FAQ
What Happens in Therapy?
Therapy is a space to talk about what’s going on in your life — the things that feel stuck, overwhelming, or just confusing. We’ll work together to figure out what’s getting in the way and explore new ways of coping, thinking, and feeling.
You set the pace. Some days might feel focused and practical, others more reflective. It’s your time, and it’s about what matters to you.
How Often Will We Meet?
Most clients meet weekly for a 50-minute session. This includes both individual and couples therapy.
If we're doing EMDR, those sessions are typically 60 minutes to allow enough time for the process.
Longer sessions—up to 90 minutes—are also available if you’d like more time to go deeper or need extra space on a given day. We’ll talk about what pace and structure feel right for you.
Will My Information Remain Private?
Everything you share with me during the course of our work together is strictly confidential. The only exceptions are specific situations where state law requires me to break confidentiality—typically if there is an immediate threat to your safety or the safety of someone else. I’ll go over these rare exceptions in detail in the informed consent form you’ll review and sign before we begin.
If you choose to seek reimbursement from your insurance company, I may be required to provide certain information—such as your diagnosis and the progress of our work together—in order for them to process your claim. If you’d like to understand more about how this works, please don’t hesitate to ask me.
Do You Accept Insurance?
I do not accept insurance at this time, but I can provide a monthly superbill for you to submit to your insurance, HSA/FSA, or for tax purposes. Insurance often reimburses some portion of out-of-network psychotherapy—be sure to check your plan for details, especially regarding telehealth coverage.
What Is Your Cancellation Policy?
Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance. Sessions canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice—or missed without notice—will be charged the full session fee.
I understand that things come up, and I’ll do my best to work with established clients to reschedule when possible.
